Carbon Footprint and Renewable Energy

Measuring our carbon footprint means understanding the environmental impact of our activities and identifying practical actions to reduce it. For Petra, understanding its emissions is the first step in a continuous improvement journey based on measurable data, verifiable objectives, and a growing sense of responsibility towards the local community and future generations.

Bees are among the most important environmental bioindicators: their health directly reflects the quality of the surrounding ecosystem. Protecting them means contributing to biodiversity conservation, preserving agricultural landscapes, and maintaining natural ecological balance.

From this awareness comes our certified organic beekeeping project: ten beehives adopted and managed in collaboration with the Podere Montebornioli farm in Montespertoli (FI). A stationary apiary that removes the stress of transporting the colonies, with entirely organic materials and protocols — from wax renewal to health monitoring, through to feeding based on the honey produced by the bees themselves.
